Richmond strip club owner Sam Moore today was sentenced to 60 days behind bars for misdemeanor convictions of having sex with a minor and filming sex with an adult.However, Moore could serve just 30 days of the sentence for good behavior. Moore agreed earlier this month to accept conviction on the charges, although he did not plead guilty to them. By doing so, he avoided trial on felony charges of producing child pornography by filming sex with a 17-year-old girl in his apartment above Club Velvet, his semi-nude strip club in Shockoe Bottom.
"I deeply regret my lack of good judgment," Moore said before he was sentenced today. "I apologize to the commonwealth and the two young ladies involved. I hope in the future I'll have the strength and wisdom to make proper changes in my life."
Moore removed his sport jacket, handed it to one of his attorneys and was escorted out of the courtroom to begin his 60 day sentence.
Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney Michael N. Herring said there will be a federal investigation regarding Club Velvet, which purportedly has many ABC violations.
