April Fool's Day Tease...

Elliot is finally back from vacation, just in time for April Fool's Day...

What better way to kick off a week back, than with Carrie Ann Inaba from Dancing With The Star...huh?

Also on tomorrow's show, Jean-Michel Cousteau (Return to the Amazon) and Mike Green, from the Washington Capitals.

You, Intern Sam & Mötley Crüe!

Greaseman Back at DC101!

Doug "The Greaseman" Tracht, who became famous during his time at DC101 from 1982 to 1993, is returning to host a Saturday morning show starting April 5th. Here's what DCRTV said:

Yet again, DCRTV scoops Radio And Records. DCRTV told you on Friday, and now R&R confirms on Monday that Doug "The Greaseman" Tracht, who last prowled the airwaves of DC rocker DC101 from 1982 to 1993, is returning to host a Saturday morning show come 4/5. DC101 Program Director Cruze tells R&R: "It's been suggested that I'm out of my mind, and it may be true. But in a day when our industry is facing more and more competition, we're flying in the face of 'normal' radio procedures and building a stable of talented 'personality' shows on DC101. Having Greaseman on Saturday morning gives us yet another piece of audio entertainment content that you can't get anywhere else but DC101." Tracht's morning show most recently aired on Gaithersburg brokered talk and music outlet WMET, but he left the IDT AMer late last year to take a hiatus from the radio biz. After working at DC101, Tracht did mornings at then classic rocker WARW, but was fired by CBS Radio in 1999 after making a tasteless racial joke that he repeatedly apologized for. Oh, R&R's piece makes it sound as though Clear Channel owned DC101 when Tracht worked there. The radio giant bought the then locally-owned station long after Tracht left.....

Update:
DC101 is now playing promos featuring the Greaseman saying he's coming back!

Intern Sam Poll Results

The poll results are in! There was no definate answer on this one, however people sure do seem to like Intern Sam either way.

Six people voted "Hell No!" in the poll, obviously those people were: Elliot, Diane, Flounder, Kyle, Tyler and...um...fuck...this explanation would have meshed a lot better seven months ago...damn you Craig!

Best Of...Friday Recap

On today's Best Of...

Kevin McCarthy Jr. (Redskins Number-One Fan), became an EITM favorite when he used to call the show and argue with Flounder. This morning, his very first call was played. Flounder and Kevin verbally assaulted each other while Elliot and Tyler kept score. Kevin is known for his full-back tattoo, which lists the names of all the Washington Redskins inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Sadly, Kevin no longer associates with the show.

In the summer of 2006, Flounder's dream of meeting Alison Starling of WJLA-TV finally came true when he and Alison found themselves together at the same place. Though they initially crossed paths, Alison actually tracked Flounder down, making his back and other things even sweatier than they were before.

Earlier this year, Elliot received a call from a 12-year-old girl who claimed her mother made her attend a radical Pentecostal church. She said that a boy was beaten for not wanting to come to church, and that her mother would blindfold her on the way there. The phone call sparked a debate on whether Elliot should get involved by calling the girls parents.

Jodi Picoult stopped by on March 17th to chat about her new book, Change of Heart, which currently sits atop The New York Times best-seller list.

Her interview with Elliot is still available for download here.

And lastly, is Ping Pong a real sport? How about Butts Up or Smear the Queer?

Hi Tyler!

Best Of...Thursday Recap

On today's Best Of...

Two interviews took up the majority of Best Of this morning. The first was the March 3rd interview with David Sheff and his son, Nic, who have both written memoirs about Nic’s methamphetamine addiction. Let me know if you want the audio!

On February 4th, Elliot received a call from a "tearful" Amber Lynn Koger, the wife of Jeffrey Koger, who just two days prior, had shot and injured three people while leading police on a high-speed chase. After an exchange of gunfire with police, Koger was shot and injured. As a result, he has been charged with the attempted capital murder of a Virginia state trooper.

Jeffrey Koger is also suspected in diverting $2.2 million from homeowners associations and investing some of the money in Amber Lynn Koger's name for a (now defunct) health club (Tri-Fitness) and Jordan's 8, a Washington restaurant on Capital Hill.

Amber Lynn told Elliot she had nothing to do with her husband's finances, meanwhile she continued to incriminate him throughout the duration of the call. Several listeners called in criticizing Amber Lynn for being a gold digger. In my original post about the story, several readers left critical comments for her as well.

Police are continuing their investigation of all the incidents. Koger's preliminary hearing on the capital murder charge is currently scheduled for sometime in April.

P.S. - Please leave your thoughts on the Koger case. And if you're looking for Nic Sheff's MySpace page, click here.

Sniper Shootings? Not Again!

Gunfire struck several vehicles and injured two people on a stretch of Interstate 64 early Thursday morning...

The shootings left motorists and police on edge in a region where memories of the deadly Beltway snipers still haven't faded.

Best Of...Wednesday Recap

On today's Best Of...

Elliot spoke with Diane a day after she gave birth to Marley in 2005. He was teasing her about how awful her first dump was going to be. Does anyone remember the woman who filled in while she was on maternity leave?

In the fall of 2005, Flounder went on a highly publicized blind date with a girl named Nicole. The next day, Elliot set up a double date between Flounder & Nicole and Tyler & Lindsey.

Sadly, after Nicole went out and bought a new dress for the date, Flounder publicly humiliated her by backing out of their date on the air. While admitting that he was being a dick, a crying Nicole called in completely heartbroken. Flounder's excuse for not wanting to go on a second date, was that he just wasn't that into her and besides, he's not good with relationships. Hi Ashley!

Speaking of Ashley, there was a time when Flounder's current flame was just a another DC101 intern. She told Elliot about having to thwart off the advances of PJ, a (former) DJ at the station. PJ had been sending Ashley flirty text messages.

After numerous listeners called in claiming PJ had hit on them too, and a particular call raising questions of PJ's relations with high school girls, Elliot called to confront him with the accusations. According to PJ, he was drunk when he texted Ashley and he denied banging any underage girls. Years later, he also denied having a kid on his Match.com profile. What a winner!

Who knew Peter Bergen, author of the book, "The Osama Bin Laden I Know" had a stalker? Bergen had recently been on EITM, and according to an email Elliot had received, a listener worked with a woman who pretended she was married to and even pregnant by Bergen. Turns out, she was just a psycho!

The infamous Dexter Manley interview from last Friday was replayed this morning. I've probably heard it 10 times already, but it never gets old! "Sweet Culture Club reference!"

Zach the Jewish Kid has been a good friend of the show for a while now. He originally became acquainted with Elliot when he won tickets to a Fall Out Boy concert. To show his thanks, Zach gave The Class yarmulkes his mother hand painted for his Bar Mitzvah. Too bad Tyler used one to clean up spilt coffee two weeks ago.

New Member of Class?

Should Intern Sam be inducted as an official member of The Class?

Pick your answer in my new poll, but hurry, it closes Friday!

Best Of...Tuesday Recap

On today's Best Of...

The Panic Channel stopped by in the summer of 2006 to promote their debut album, (ONe). The band features guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Chris Chaney, and drummer Stephen Perkins, all formerly of Jane's Addiction, as well as vocalist Steve Isaacs.

In July 2003, The Powerball® was up to $250 million, and Elliot sent Flounder and Kyle down to Union Station with four garbage bags full of balloons with tickets inside. In this pre-Tyler clip, security guards eventually grabbed Kyle and the cops made the two of them clean up the remnants of the popped balloons. According to Flounder, this bit was in memory of...Clyde Frog!

Jeff Ma was in-studio on March 4th to promote the upcoming movie 21, based on his experience as one of the six MIT students who took Vegas for millions. The film is based on Bringing Down the House, the best-selling book by Ben Mezrich and is due in theatres this Friday!

In the winter of 2006, Flounder tried to bring flowers to his former crush, Alison Starling co-anchor of WJLA-TV's morning program "Good Morning Washington" in DC.

Sadly, all he could get was her co-anchor Doug McKelway, who talked to Elliot on the phone and told Flounder his flowers were ugly. "Hey McKelway, Treat Yourself!"

Other show discussions included crazy coaches, and people who have married, divorced and remarried.

Sam Moore In The Psych Ward!

Sam Moore, the owner of Club Velvet in Richmond was due to stand trial this morning on two charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor...

You'll recall, Elliot spoke with Moore on February 29th, when he called the show to clear a few things up. At that time, Moore appeared optimistic and even invited Elliot to stop by his club.

Today, prosecutors announced they will ask a grand jury to indict Moore on a felony charge of videotaping sex with a minor. Moore was expected to appear in court Tuesday, however his attorney told the judge his client is currently IN THE PSYCH WARD AT VCU!

A grand jury will consider the felony charge on April 8th.

EITMOnline Makeover?

The official website of Elliot In The Morning, EITMOnline.com, has had connection issues all day long. Could it be their server, or is it just me?

If my guess is right, I think Tyler is giving the site a brand new makeover. It was around this time last year that the current layout was unveiled. I guess we'll find out soon!

Update:
EITMOnline has reappeared unscathed!

Best Of...Monday Recap

EITM is in Best Of all this week. On today's Best Of...

Judge David Young was in-studio last fall promoting his new court show of the same name. Young is the first openly gay TV judge whose slogan is, "Justice with a Snap"!

NBA referee, Bob Delaney checked in about 2 weeks ago to talk about his book, Covert: My Years Infiltrating the Mob. Before his career as a referee, Delaney lived his life as a New Jersey state trooper who infiltrated organized crime. [AUDIO]

Non-guest discussions focused on: promise rings, parent/kid fights, a lesbian mother living out of her car, and the possible connection of the death of Adam Walsh (son of America's Most Wanted host John Walsh) to Jeffrey Dahmer in 1981.

Speaking of AMW, remember when Elliot had a short role in a reenactment on the show? Click here to watch it.

P.S. - I only review what I hear. If I missed something, let me know!

Easter Keg Hunt Video

Magic Rat of Team "DC Sportbikes" has posted the official video of their Easter Keg Hunt this year....

From meeting up in the middle of the night, to staking out Flounder's house and searching station vehicles...this video is pretty cool.

Best Of Until 3/31/08!

Elliot and The Class will be taking the entire week off next week.

The show will be in Best Of mode until 3/31, of course all of this could just be a big "rumor meer"!

Spring Break bitches!

Dexter Manley on EITM!

After several attempts to reach Dexter Manley Thursday, he called into the show Friday morning and chatted with Elliot...

Tyler writes:

"After yesterday's show, Dexter [Manley's] office called the station to set up a time for him to call back today. Did you hear his phone-in? It began peaceful, but then Elliot and Dexter started to really go after each other. Of course, at the end of the day, Elliot always wins because...well, because he can read, but Dexter did get a couple of good shots in. My favorite was: 'You must not be a journalist or something...so what are you doing hosting a show?'"

Easter Keg Hunt 2008 In The Bag!

To all of you who were lucky enough to participate in the Easter Keg Hunt and actually found a keg this year, congrats!

Team "Spitzer’s Finger Sniffers" will get a years worth of Heineken Draft Kegs for only needing three clues to find the Golden Easter Keg...

Clue #1: I am not in Virginia.
Clue #2: What’s old is new again.
Clue #3: I can see planes taking off from Reagan National Airport.

Flounder was found around 7:20AM at the new Nationals stadium.

Team "DC Sportbikes" started very early this morning netting 3 kegs! Congrats to Magic Rat and the team!

Easter Kegs were hidden all over DC, Maryland and VA, in shopping malls, parking lots, and behind restaurants. If you found your keg near a roadside death marker...that was Elliot's!

Each keg is worth two Megadeth tickets for the April 26th show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Just remember, you don't have to have a keg to show up to the Easter Keg Redemption Party at McFadden's tonight from 7PM to 9PM.

Today Is The Easter Keg Hunt!

While the Easter Keg Hunt was underway, Dexter Manley called Elliot this morning. The interview...well...it didn't go so well. Hopefully Tyler will have the audio up later today.

In the meantime, Team "DC Sportbikes" is still on the hunt! My favorite team name's so far are: Team "Pillow Angel", Team "Is There a Problem Officer?", Team "Abstinence By Marriage" and of course, Team "Dexter Manley".

P.S. - The Golden Easter Keg was found around 7:20AM at the new Nationals stadium. See you at McFadden's!

Easter Keg Hunt Tomorrow!

EITM's annual Easter Keg Hunt is Friday morning!

I spoke with Magic Rat from "Team DC Sportbikes" and he told me they have 13 active particpants, and 10 people who will act as extended members of the team, taking "the long way" to work.

They will be using cameras, GPS, cellphones, and computers with broadband to document every second of their search. They even have a night vision camera for the early morning hours!

Most of their plans are classified until tomorrow, so that's all I could get out of him.

They will have live updates here and here all throughout the hunt, so be sure to listen out for "Team DC Sportbikes" on the air!

Good luck ya'll!

You Gotta Have Faith!

At the end of the show, Elliot announced that Faith the Biped Dog would be in-studio Friday morning...

However, here name was removed from EITMOnline.com, and Elliot didn't mention her in the tease...

Faith most likely had a scheduling conflict got sick and couldn't fly. Nevertheless, Alexa Wilkinson will be in-studio!

"Hello, it's Craig!"

If you missed the last thirty minutes of the show this morning, you missed one of the funniest moments, next to the monkey going ape shit on Diane in-studio a year ago. Stop pushing me Mark!

Now this will take a little explanation, Russell Crowe is in town shooting State of Play with Ben Affleck. Yesterday, while Kyle was at his girlfriend's he spotted Russell, so he ran in and grabbed her camera. As he started to take pictures, he was spotted by Russell's crew and was mistaken for a paparazzo.

This morning, Elliot got info on where Russell is staying, and in the meantime, he was talking about former NFL player Dexter Manley, when a caller gave him Dexter's number. So now with Russell and Dexter's contact numbers in-hand, Elliot thought it would be fun for Diane to give them a call.

After making repeated calls to Russell and Dexter with no luck, Flounder came running in with Russell's "local number," which somebody had purportedly emailed him. Taking the bate, Elliot dialed up the number...

Ring..."Hello, it's Craig!"
As Elliot hung up on his former employee, the room (and listeners) erupted with laughter! Tyler should have definitely put the audio up because this was pretty funny!

I love phone bits!

Diane, Put Your Hand In!

This morning, Elliot played with the Shocking Lie Detector on Diane. In another Moment of Truth inspired bit, the gadget gives you a minor shock if you tell a lie. Diane was more afraid of the Jaws theme song it plays, than the potential electrical shock to the question...

"Would you be happy to look like Pearl when you're her age?"

Her answer was yes, but she wouldn't put her hand in the damn thing long enough to get a good reading. What a pussy!

Dancing With Elliot

Jason Taylor from Dancing with the Stars and professional bass fisherman Mike Iaconelli will talk with the bearded Elliot Thursday...

Also make sure you get your last minute Easter Keg questions in before Friday!

Flounder's Golden Easter Keg

I've received some emails asking if I know where Flounder will be hiding Friday morning with the Golden Easter Keg. The answer is NO!!!

I do however know where he was hiding last year. Highlight below to find out...

Kettler Capitals Iceplex at Ballston Common Mall

Fishing With Hulk Hogan

Wrestling icon, Hulk Hogan is a shameless self-promoter. Yes, Flounder's idol is now hawking a "fantasy fishing" competition at FLWfantasyfishing.com. Here's his endorsement...

Speaking of fish, friend of the show and professional bass fisherman, Mike Iaconelli will talk with EITM Thursday morning.

Flounder Isn't Dead!

One of the top Google searches to EITMfans today is, "eitm flounder killed"...

To explain, shortly before 7AM this morning, Elliot told a weird story using the members of The Class to make it more understandable. Sadly, Flounder's guy was hit by a car and killed.

The real Flounder however, is alive and healthy is still taking his daily nap.
