Greaseman Back at DC101!

Doug "The Greaseman" Tracht, who became famous during his time at DC101 from 1982 to 1993, is returning to host a Saturday morning show starting April 5th. Here's what DCRTV said:

Yet again, DCRTV scoops Radio And Records. DCRTV told you on Friday, and now R&R confirms on Monday that Doug "The Greaseman" Tracht, who last prowled the airwaves of DC rocker DC101 from 1982 to 1993, is returning to host a Saturday morning show come 4/5. DC101 Program Director Cruze tells R&R: "It's been suggested that I'm out of my mind, and it may be true. But in a day when our industry is facing more and more competition, we're flying in the face of 'normal' radio procedures and building a stable of talented 'personality' shows on DC101. Having Greaseman on Saturday morning gives us yet another piece of audio entertainment content that you can't get anywhere else but DC101." Tracht's morning show most recently aired on Gaithersburg brokered talk and music outlet WMET, but he left the IDT AMer late last year to take a hiatus from the radio biz. After working at DC101, Tracht did mornings at then classic rocker WARW, but was fired by CBS Radio in 1999 after making a tasteless racial joke that he repeatedly apologized for. Oh, R&R's piece makes it sound as though Clear Channel owned DC101 when Tracht worked there. The radio giant bought the then locally-owned station long after Tracht left.....

Update:
DC101 is now playing promos featuring the Greaseman saying he's coming back!
