Elliot's Mea Culpa

Elliot took time Friday to apologize to 102.1 The X for calling them Thursday morning to find out why they were still promoting their studio sponsor, Club Velvet. He said he felt bad because it may have come across like he was blaming them for something.

According to Elliot, everything is in the hands of "San Antonio", (i.e. Clear Channel's corporate office). They told The X that they will look into it. However, the station is still waiting to hear back, and in the meantime have left things the way they were.

Elliot said The X is concerned about the situation and they do agree that it is not a good thing to be affiliated with the club at this time. Nevertheless, when things clear up, they will be glad to welcome Club Velvet as a sponsor again.


Oh, and apparently The X is the current laughing stock among Richmond radio stations. Anyone work in Richmond radio?

Sam Moore Calls Elliot!

Sam Moore, owner of Club Velvet in Richmond, called in to the show this morning around 9AM. He talked about everything from his past legal troubles to the questionable "Sieg Heil" slogan tattooed across his knuckles.



I emailed Tyler requesting that he put the audio up on the website, although he has yet to respond. Maybe you should email him here and request that he put the audio up as well!

Either our emails have worked, or Tyler just wanted to get the show in the Richmond papers over the weekend...

Live From the Club Velvet-X Studio!

If you listened to the show Wednesday morning, you probably heard the discussion about Sam Moore, the owner of Richmond’s Club Velvet.



Moore was arrested Saturday at the Shockoe Bottom building where he lives and runs a semi-nude strip club. He has been charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and will go on trial later next month.



The big news here however is that his club sponsors Clear Channel Richmond's WRXL studio. They run promos all day long saying something along the lines of, "From the Club Velvet-X Studios, this is 102.1 The X."



So apparently The X has stopped running promos but for some reason they still advertise it on their website.



Nevertheles, Elliot tried to get down to the bottom of things this morning by calling down to Richmond with no luck. He was simply told "we are looking into it." Oh and just in case you were wondering, the sponsorship is annual, not monthly or even weekly.

As Tyler said yesterday, "incarcerated or not, his money is still good. Right, Clear Channel Richmond?"

Is Your Pet Depressed?

From suicidal cats, to dogs on Prozac, we learned this morning that there is a plethora of messed up pets out there. One caller said that his dog tried to commit suicide by drowning himself in a lake.

Fuck! I'm just glad my dog "Sam" isn't a freak...

Intern Sam Burgundy!

Elliot Comments On Koger Case

I'm sure you've heard the name Jeffrey Koger on EITM. Well, remember when his wife called Elliot earlier this month? Well, I just ran across this article, where Elliot talks about what happened...

Early on Monday morning, Feb. 4, a woman called the DC-101 radio show "Elliot in the Morning" and identified herself as Amber Lynn Koger. Elliot Segal, the morning host told the Connection Newspapers that she sounded hysterical. She said that she had been living separately from her husband and the police had come to see her and her two children to be sure they were safe, Segal related. She said police told her they had gone to the Oak Hill home and found that someone, presumably Koger, had shot up the walls and burned personal effects. Segal said that law enforcement officers and lawyers in the bankruptcy case had sought to obtain transcripts of the exchange, which was broadcast on the radio.

All of this would explain why Tyler previously asked, "Why do people have to do bad things and then call to gloat about it on the radio?"

Weekends Only

If you're a regular listener of the show, than you're probably familiar with Diane's bowel problems and the endless taunts she's received because of it. This morning, Diane admitted that she only poops on the weekends and WILL NOT go at all while in Dubai.



Diane said she doesn't want to take laxatives out of fear of becoming dependent like Britney, who takes 10-a-day.

I hear Diane has Chrone's disease and her butt stinks! Pass it on...

Diane's Adapter Challenge

Elliot put Diane in charge of picking up converters adapters for everyone's computers and for Tyler's hair dryer. She resisted at first, but Elliot prodded her with the "I got you a trip to Dubai, that's the least you can do" line. Meanwhile, there was some discussion on whether or not arriving in Dubai with just carry-ons looks suspicious.

Tyler also said that he will be vloging (video blogging) from Dubai...mostly for his girlfriend's sake. The Class will be leaving March 5th!

Gary Busey Is Creepy!

"We're you going to ask me about getting kissed on the neck, on the red carpet, by this man?"...



The awkward exchange between Gary Busey and Jennifer Garner seemed to overshadow the the Oscars today.

This one for the Elliot in the Morning show in Washington DC, if you're anywhere within earshot. Katy at St. Martin's Press in New York, who organises these things, tells me it's a Zoo Format show, which I presume means lots of wacky presenters all taking the piss out of me. I do hope so, the last couple of days being more of a Hermit-like format for me personally, getting reacquainted with the Zep book."

"Another day another Axl radio interview, this time the Drew and Mike show in Detroit...I thought Elliot and Diane in Washington DC would take some beating, as they were atomically good. But Drew and Mike today were even better."

So has the interview already been done? I mean, I know this is a pretty common thing in radio, but I guess I didn't think EITM really did pre-taped interviews. The only one I can think of was Marilyn Manson's, and that's because he's a night owl. Thoughts???

Bert Kreischer on EITM

Comedian Bert Kreischer was in-studio this morning to promote The Jameson Comedy Tour which is at the DC Improv through Sunday...



To be honest with you, I had never heard of Bert until this morning, and all I have to say is that he’s hysterically funny!



He came to fame while attending FSU when Rolling Stone Magazine named him the "Number One Partier in the Nation". Have you ever seen Van Wilder? Yep, that was about him! Oh, and by the way, have you ever had your ass waxed?...

Drew Carey on EITM

Drew Carey, host of The Price Is Right called in this morning to talk about his six new prime time Million Dollar Spectacular Specials starting Friday night on CBS. This will be Drew’s first primetime specials since taking over for Bob Barker.



I love Drew because whenever he calls Elliot, he never really want's to talk about his show...haha. He'd rather talk about this video from May 2007, when the Toronto FC's showered the field with their seat cushions after their first goal against the Chicago Fire.



Nevertheless, The Price Is Right is practically giving away money, and Drew says he can't say what happens, but it's pretty exciting...gees, what a nail biter!

Mark Steines and The Hoarder

Mark Steines called in this morning to chat about everything from Farah Fawcett Pink to his exclusive interview with Delta Burke tonight...



The former Designing Women star checked into a psychiatric hospital last week for depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and hoarding.

Mark said Delta has 27 storage units full of junk! Good God woman!

Intern Sam's Tease

Flounder's intern Sam was let out of rehab...



...to record Thursday's tease. Sam made a complete fool of himself at Elliot's Daytona 500 party Sunday night, when he got soo shit-faced that he vomited all over himself and the sidewalk.

Well believe it or not, his kid is almost 2 years old now and (according to a caller today) he has a new live-in girlfriend. Boy, time flies!

Oh shit, my mistake! That was actually what Diane’s husband Scott did recently, while eating with the family at California Tortilla. Hi folks!

Elliot's Belated Birthday Gift

Yeah, apparently I had it wrong. His birthday was Sunday (until I'm corrected again), but he did receive a gift from Hobie in Richmond today...



What was the gift you ask? None other than the Listen Up device, a personal sound amplifier that allows you to hear people talking from a distance.

Diane tested it from the hallway as Elliot and Tyler had fun saying certain phrases, such as, "Okay go deep!," "I love the Eiffel Tower," and my personal favorite, "Diane has double D's"!!!

EITM In Amsterdam?

This morning The Class found out that they will have a 7 hour layover in Amsterdam on their way to Dubai March 5th. Elliot said it was like Christmas! He told Jacquie that if he ever went to Amsterdam that he would smoke pot again. Fearful of being detained when they arrive in Dubai, Diane said that she will be waiting at the gate with her bag...haha.

Incriminating Evidence

Imagine you've received pictures that pertain to a certain co-worker. That co-worker isn't actually in the pictures, but it does show incriminating evidence about them. When you finally show your co-worker the pictures, their eyes get big and they gasp. Busted?



This awkward scenario played out in the studio this morning around 9am. The "co-worker" in question, never spoke and was not identified. Thus, leaving us listeners clueless as to who it was. Nevertheless, Elliot said there would be a meeting after the show.

Most of you probably remember Dan as the host of MTV Sports in the 90's. Since then, he's cut his hair, appeared on multiple TV shows such as Veronica's Closet and...is the Reverend of an in your face church in Syracuse?

Um yeah...he's also hosting a new game show, My Dad is Better Than Your Dad that premieres Monday at 9pm on NBC!

Okay, well maybe it was Elliot's t-shirt talking, but it was pretty entertaining to say the least.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not that up to date on my Tony Stewart merchandise, but I couldn't find the shirt on Tony's official online store, TonyStewartStore.com.



Nevertheless, I was able to find a pretty similar shirt here. But hurry, there's only 3 more left!
