Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson have announced that they are engaged after the rugby star popped the question secretly 6 weeks ago as the couple celebrated Charlotte’s 24th birthday.The Welsh rugby player pulled out all the stops to make the proposal special, surprising his partner of 5 years by whisking her away in a helicopter he’d borrowed from his Ospreys boss.
The Over the Rainbow Judge described in a magazine interview how she’d been feeling a little worse for wear after celebrating her birthday the night before when she heard the helicopter land in her garden.
After flying to a seafront hotel in Truro, Cornwall for a romantic lunch, Gavin took Charlotte for a walk before getting down on one knee and proposing to the Voice of an Angel star with a 2 carat heart shaped diamond ring.
The couple, who have two children together Ruby and Dexter.
