Elliot in the Morning went down a very awkward path Thursday morning...It all started around 7:30am with a hesitant Elliot apologizing to Tyler right off the bat...
He began to tell a story about a couple whose friends with Jacquie's mother. Elliot's mother-in-law asked him if the radio station was hiring, because this particular couple is trying to move to the area to start a new life. They recently had a newborn baby who did not survive birth.
Clearly uncomfortable, Tyler addressed his pregnant wife, Lindsey, asking her to turn off her radio. Unfazed, Elliot continued with the story, revealing that this couple took their deceased newborn home for two weeks -- even sitting it at the dinner table.
"That's kind of messed up, the fact that you thought this story was relevant enough to bring up," Tyler said.
Still unfazed, Elliot and Diane discussed the legal implications, whether or not they would recommend the person for a job, and who would be the first to gossip about it in the building. After remaining quiet for the majority of the conversation, Tyler had clearly heard enough...
"It's upsetting people on Twitter, it's upsetting my wife, I'm not happy with you - I'm not happy", he said. "I don't get why this had to come up today or really ever and people agree with me."**Cue Awkward Silence**
Elliot then took a phone call from a man who had lost his child at 8 months old. **Crickets**
The show then went to commercial and later returned as if the morbid conversation had never taken place. Tyler, however, did not speak for the remainder of the show. In fact, when Elliot directed a question his way, Tyler reluctantly answered, but his mic sounded like it was turned off.
I love E-Dogg, but clearly...this is a conversation that could have been saved for another day -- or never. Have some respect for your work-spouse and his pregant wife. Just sayin'...
